New building for laboratories for the CHV

The building for laboratories and teaching area is located above the maintenance building without interfering its structure and distribution.

The aim of its shape is to place itself above the existent building without spreading anything outside that area, with the goal of defining the intervention limits and reducing the amount of volumes which are already built.

These parameters affect the structural strategy, which tries to reduce interferences, and the distribution of the program, which has to “work as a clock”.

The building has two floors, and the new façade integrates both of them, the maintenance building and some areas of the “Osona Salut Mental” building, creating a sole volume instead of the actual chaotic composition.

This new building also wants to connect the main hospital building with the mental health department and the new educational psychology building.
