“Hospital Universitari de Vic” Extension

The aim of the project is to adapt and extend the seventh floor of the “Vic University Hospital” in order to locate there the psychiatry area, previously located in the third floor, west wing.

The area is provided with fifteen rooms, with capacity for twenty-two people.

The intervention also extends the original bulding with an exterior area located in the west wing of the Hospital, which is designed to contain part of the program and to create an outside space, protected from the sun, as a leisure area for patients.

Ceramics are present everywhere. The holes that introduce light while protecting from the sun in the leisure area are the shiny colour dots extended throughout the whole psychiatry sections, connecting both spaces and bringing light and life into the building.
